What are the requirements to purchase medical cannabis in Maine?

To purchase Medical Marijuana, you must be at least 18 years old (or accompanied by a registered legal guardianparent and/or caregiver) with a valid medical marijuana patient card from the State of Maine or a US State on Maine’s reciprocity partner list; you must also have a valid, State-issued ID (if you are presenting a driver’s license or other state issued ID, it must be from the same state as your medical card) Please note that we cannot accept passports or other federal IDs as per the Maine Office of Marijuana Policy.

Do you accept out of state Medical Cannabis Cards?

Maine accepts valid Medical Cannabis Cards from; Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Washington, DC.

Patients who are residents of these states may purchase medical cannabis products while visiting Maine, subject to the limitations imposed by the laws and rules of the State of Maine the laws and rules of their state of residence. This list is subject to change.

How do I get my Maine Medical Cannabis Patient Card?

In order to purchase medical cannabis and/or receive protections under Maine's Medical Marijuana law, you will need to have a current medical marijuana certification from a Maine licensed healthcare professional and a Maine ID.

This medical marijuana certification, or medical ID, can be obtained from your physician. In Maine, any M.D., D.O. or C.N.P., or P.A.  can recommend cannabis for you.

Do I need an appointment?

No, no appointment is required. If you are already in possession of your medical marijuana card, you can come to our store during store hours (10am-6pm, daily) and speak with our staff. Or, you can call us in advance of your visit should you have any questions you would like addressed prior to your visit.

How much medical cannabis can I legally purchase?

Under the Maine Medical Marijuana Program, qualified Maine patients can possess 2.5 ounces, or 70.9 grams, of prepared dry flower to 8 pounds, or 3.6 kilograms, of harvested marijuana

What's the difference between a medical cannabis caregiver and a dispensary?

The caregiver model is patient-centered, and typically provides a higher quality of care. Traditionally, caregivers in Maine have been advocates for the rights of the patient. The caregiver approach is more consultative, personalized for the patient.
